Hello! I’m Betsy and I have always been one of the creative kids. My mom has my first drawing of one of Snow White’s seven dwarfs that I did when I was three years old. I grew up constantly drawing ballerinas and when I learned how to paint a self portrait in high school, that sparked my interest in portraiture.
I majored in art in college and afterward I made the leap to move to New York City to go to Parsons School of Design. The last sixteen years have gone by in a flash! It’s been a wild ride!
My interest in portraits and my background in painting have lent themselves well to a career in photo retouching. I have a keen sense of color and I don’t like to be too heavy handed with my tools in Photoshop. There’s a delicate balance between enhancing natural beauty and maintaining authenticity and I find that less is oftentimes more.
